Tom and Pearl
Resident Managers — Burlington
Ask anyone about Tom and Pearl, and they'll tell you that these resident managers are legendary.
Tom and Pearl have been with CAPREIT for more than a decade and have continuously grown into one of our strongest Building Manager Teams. They both have done a fantastic job in managing their properties and take complete ownership of all aspects of their duties. Tom and Pearl manage an apartment building and a townhouse complex, along with assisting and mentoring other CAPREIT building staff in the surrounding Burlington properties.
Tom and Pearl took over at the townhouse complex when it was acquired by CAPREIT in January, 2011 and immediately began turning it around from the state it was in at the time of purchase to the highly profitable property it is today. They have taken complete responsibility of the property and have transformed it for the better by continuously improving its client base and making sure that all property issues are addressed as soon as they are discovered. Together they have helped develop a strong team to look over the property with Pearl focusing on leasing, Brian focusing on maintenance, and Peter always being available to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever he is needed. This amazing team has been able to tackle any issues that may arise, continuing to improve the standard of the property on every level. Congratulations to the team for being recognized as CAPREIT's Property of the 1st Quarter, 2015 for Southwestern Ontario!
In addition to doing a great job of managing their properties, the couple has added a personal touch in dealing with residents. Their mantle is filled with cards and letters from residents expressing gratitude for the couple's random acts of kindness - driving an elderly resident to the doctor or picking up a prescription for example - that extend beyond day-to-day property management.
Thanks to Tom and Pearl, every holiday season is special . Their festive gifts of homemade cookies, jams and preserves are a seasonal delight for every resident. The painstaking assembling of the office's Christmas Village consumes four days, but it serves as the centerpiece for a celebration of music and merriment that attracts more than 100 people.
