CAPREIT’s Top 6 Resident Parties of 2015
A year in review
2015 was a big year for resident parties at CAPREIT. We like to throw parties not just because they're fun, but because it's a chance for different levels of management to hear directly from residents about the stuff we're doing that works and doesn't work. It's like a checkup, but fun.
We threw parties across the country from Victoria all the way to Halifax, and these are our favourites:
Site manager Suzanne
threw a Holiday Party for residents at Samuel Holland Apartments in Quebec City with music, dancing, buffet, and drinks. Even Santa was there in person distributing candies and listening to several residents' wish list. Over 400 residents attended!
Bouncy house, anyone?
Dushy, Neena and her team put together an amazing summer BBQ party at White Oaks Apartments in Whitby, Ontario. While the hot dogs and hamburgers were being grilled by CAPREIT staff and volunteers, children played in the bouncy house and over 250 residents got a chance to chat with each other. The Mayor of Whitby, the police, and the fire department attended the event with the Fire Department doing an interactive fire safety demonstration with resident kids. All our residents who attended were thrilled and thankful for our efforts!
This holiday party tradition
was started many years ago, and residents look forward the gathering every year. Denise, our site manager at Le St-Laurent Apartments across the street from the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City, threw a big holiday party for residents in December. This year over 110 residents celebrated with us by enjoying refreshments in the lobby!
Who doesn't love a Halloween party?
The Kindergarten School located within Samuel Holland Apartments in Quebec City threw a Kids' Halloween Party on October 30
. Every year the kids parade up and down the commercial gallery on the first floor. At the end CAPREIT welcomes them into our rental office and gives them lots of candies for their hard work.
Philip, our superintendent at Brampton Village
Apartments in Ontario, had an amazing Halloween party planned for the kids living in his building. Buckets and buckets of candies were passed out and site staff used the opportunity to reach out to lots of families.
At CAPREIT we understand the importance of being eco-friendly
and encouraging others to participate in programs that help the environment. Earlier this year we facilitated a talk where residents came out to hear Janet, a guest speaker from North Shore Recycling Program. She discussed the program, as well as the importance of recycling and waste reduction in rental apartments. Residents at International Plaza Apartments in North Vancouver received their very own deluxe reusable recycling bags to make it even easier to stay green.
